Our professional glove break-in process is designed to make your glove feel like an extension of your hand. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just getting started, our process ensures that your glove is broken in correctly, avoiding unnecessary wear and tear. Each glove is hand molded to meet your specific requirements, whether you prefer a deep pocket or a shallower feel for quick transitions. We offer a variety of break-in styles, including traditional and personalized fits, so that your glove is always ready to perform.
- Finger Shift (two fingers in the pinky stall)
Players place both their ring and pinky fingers into the pinky slot of the glove, leaving the index finger slot empty or sometimes using it for their middle finger. This technique creates a deeper pocket and allows for more glove flexibility, commonly used by outfielders and some infielders who want better ball security.
- Traditional Fit (Five Finger Fit)
Each finger is placed in its designated slot, with the pinky in the pinky slot, ring finger in the ring slot, and so on. Provides a snug, natural fit with good glove control, typically preferred by infielders who need quick ball transfers.
- Finger Out (Index Finger Outside the Glove)
The index finger is placed on the outside of the glove, typically on a padded area designed for this purpose, with the rest of the fingers inside. Allows for extra leverage, better control of the glove, and added protection from hard-hit balls. It’s common among infielders and catchers.
- Flared Glove (Flared Fingers)
The glove’s fingers are flared out wide, creating a larger catching area and a more flexible feel. It makes the glove easier to open and close, which is especially beneficial for outfielders catching fly balls or first basemen picking throws.
- Straight Finger (No Flare)
The glove’s fingers are left straight, giving it a more compact shape. Provides a more traditional, tight feel, often preferred by infielders for better control and quicker transfers.
- Loose Fit (Loosened Laces)
Players loosen the laces of the glove to create a looser fit and deeper pocket. This offers more flexibility in the glove, allowing for a softer, more forgiving pocket. It’s common for outfielders and first basemen.
- Tight Fit (Tightened Laces)
Players tighten the laces for a firmer, more secure fit. This allows for better control and a more compact feel, preferred for quick ball transfers and precise handling among infielders, pitchers, and catchers.
- Shallow Pocket
Middle Infield Players use a shallow pocket to make quick transfers.
- Deeper Pocket
Corner Infield Players, Outfield Players, and Pitchers prefer a deeper pocket to secure the ball, with a larger glove.
- Custom Catcher’s Mitt
Tailored fit, ideal flexibility, and optimal pocket depth.
